| Accessory back allowing use of 2¼x3¼ sheet film, film
packs, and plates on the Medalist and Medalist II. It is shown here mounted on a Medalist II. With
the accessory back, the film plane was farther back, rendering the Medalist's otherwise
excellent rangefinder (and focus scale) useless while in use. Therefore, focusing
had to be done with the back's built-in groundglass focusing screen and the fold-down
focusing lens

The photo at right shows an additional accessory -- an extension
unit for the accessory back. With the extension unit, the Medalist II could focus as
close as 12", yielding a negative with an approximately 50% image size.
